I have just returned back to Mobile after the best day trip! Six girlfriends piled in the suburban, ditched carpools and addressing xmas cards and now "I Saw The Light" and "Your Cheatin' Heart" are…Continue

not exactly a honky-tonk but it WAS one of the greatest live music venues of all time....The Armadillo World Headquarters, Austin TX 1970-1980. I recently had the opportunity to meet the guys who ran it. full sccop: http://flyfishchick.com/2013/09/24/armadillos-breed-four-at-a-time-...

has anyone ever seen the alabama based band The Modern Eldorados? They are such a fun, livewire show! I sat down with their lead singer this week and on top of talent, he is one of the most fascinating, principled people I have ever met. they are keeping honky tonk fresh and alive on the gulf coast! here's my post about our interview...

I have been following her blog for awhile... lover her style in her shop and on her blog, too!  She was here on Sea Island about a month ago in a very intimate, small venue concert. Unfortunately, we were out of town that weekend.  I heard it was great!

I have really been enjoying this nashville blog about food and pretty things: The Afternoon Off. Here's the honky tonk part: the blogger is Holly Williams, grand daughter of Hank Williams and daughter of Hank Jr. She lives in Nashville, owns a lovely boutique called H Audrey, sings and has her own album coming out in Feb when she will go on tour. Part of her tour will be with sheryl crow. she's a renaissance honky tonk woman! I think yall will like her blog. some nice gift ideas up at the moment...and the food posts......mmmmm

I think they've been doing the service for about a year and a half? it started with about 30 people. apparently in the summer it's a thousand people, standing room only. I think they have about 450 regulars now. it's a GREAT service!! too cool

Ok... this is something new to me!  Have they been doing this for a while and I just somehow missed it?
