Charleston is full of courtyards, hidden gardens, and patios. From one charming path to the next, the historic district's quaint neighborhoods are perfect for a stroll in the morning, or a cocktail before dinner. Below are a few of my favorite spots that are uniquely Charleston.

1. The Unitarian Churchyard – Just a few steps from King Street, this historic churchyard is nestled between antebellum homes and majestic churches. Stop here for a few moments of peace and quiet in the middle of the city. Grab a cup of coffee and a churchyard bench, as this tranquil path provides the perfect atmosphere to catch up on your summer reading.

2. Kings Courtyard Inn – Let the Kings Courtyard Inn serve as your jump-off point for the quintessential Charleston experience. Book a room for the weekend, and prepare to be delighted with all of Charleston's charms. Before dinner, stroll to the Lion's Head Courtyard for complimentary wine and cheese. This hidden gem, located in the heart of the historic district, is the perfect place to rest your head. The staff will shower you with Southern hospitality, and the scenery will have you floating on a cloud.

3. The patio at Circa 1886 Restaurant – this restaurant is a Charleston treasure! Located on the grounds of the opulent Wentworth Mansion, Circa 1886 Restaurant is the perfect spot for an enchanted evening. Leave your cares behind as you sip a cocktail on the patio. From the azaleas in the spring to the currently blooming hibiscus, the garden at Circa 1886 is a can't-miss.
