So, what's scarier?  Blood moon apocalypse mongering or actually waking up at 3AM for a celestial event?  If you have what it takes to face the latter, you won't be sorry. Total lunar eclipses are an awesome sight to behold!  So, set your coffee maker and find your binocs because the skies are about to get interesting.

The upcoming blood moon eclipse is the first of four total lunar eclipes (a tetrad) between April 2014 and September 2015.  The eclipsed moon will take on a rusty hue, as the moon passes through the Earth's shadow.  "Total eclipse" will last for 78 minutes, starting at 3:08AM EST.

Over the course of 2014, there will be two lunar eclipses (April 15th & October 8th) and two solar eclipses (April 29th & October 23rd).  Below you will find the times/map for the April 15th lunar eclipse for the Southeastern United States (EST). Keep your fingers crossed for clear skies and don't forget the scariest thing of all... it's tax day.
